As a boy I grew up with Paddington, not literally of course, but I had to read every book I could get my hands on and even once I should have been "progressing onto more challenging works" I still had a soft spot for that little bear from Darkest Peru. So it was with some trepidation that I headed to the cinema today? How would the small bear cope on the big screen? The answer? Fantastically well! I laughed (perhaps too loud) I cried (perhaps too much). The characters were all so lovable and well played... especially the small bear with the big heart! A triumph and well done to everyone concerned it was a real masterpiece and my memories of my childhood were, if anything enhanced. If you see one film this Christmas, make it Paddington, your heart will be considerably warmer when you leave and everything will, for once, feel right with the world :)

A big thank you for everyone who turned out to cheer and encourage us all on, in what was the wettest race I have ever run! It had rained all night and despite the forecast being "Showers" it rained all day as well. This didn't dampen my spirits though as I shaved 90 seconds off my best to finish in 1:56:19 A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored me and made me work that extra bit harder :) I love you all. Training has gone well over the past 12 weeks and once again I'm attacking my Personal Best! Third time lucky right? Although I'm a little disappointed about the weather forecast, it should be a great run and always great to run in front of a home crowd. I just hope that the rain doesn't put people off (but I can't blame you if it does). I'd like to thank everyone who has donated to my just giving page, I could never have believed that we could raise just short of £1500 for Parkinson's UK. Be prepared for an update after the race when my legs have recovered. :)
The Premiere screening of Kris Smith's "Z-Listers" (Official Film link) which, of course, required a "SciFi convention" feel, was a great evening. Lot's of people joined in the fun by coming in costume even if we did have several "Batmen" (What is the plural of Batman?) Well done Kris on a good fun, well produced film and the Premiere, just like the filming was such a great experience. Thanks for making me a part of this film and allowing me the opportunity to get the lycra out in public :) |
